Firewalls

A firewall gets it's name from the comparison between it and the beak in a line of trees in a forest from which it gets it's name. Forest is also a borrowed IT term which depicts your systems, each computer being a 'tree' We we protect these with a 'stateful' firewall device. This ensures that nothing comes back from the internet unless you asked it to, as the firewall device looks at the return 'state' of incoming internet traffic.
